Purdue basketball managed to earn a close win on the road at Michigan State. The Boilermakers held off the Spartans’ advances to secure a 64-63 win on Tuesday.

Purdue started the game off very hot and was even up by double digits in the first half.

Caleb Furst put an exclamation point on what was a dominant showing from the Boilermakers in the opening minutes with a slam dunk. Furst managed to score 8 points and bring in 6 rebounds as well.

It should not come as a surprise that Zach Edey was able to score what would end up being the game-winning basket for Purdue. Edey had another strong showing with 32 points and 17 rebounds.

Edey didn’t have to put in too much effort, catching a pass in the low post and scoring a layup.

Michigan State had a chance to win at the end of the game. Tyson Walker took a three-point shot at the buzzer, but it could not find the basket.

The close win over the Spartans moves Purdue to 17-1 on the year as it holds on to the top spot in the B1G. Michigan State’s record is now 12-6 after the loss as the Spartans hold on the fifth spot in the conference.

Purdue faces Minnesota next on Thursday. Tipoff will be at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
