Purdue is adding more size to its 2022 recruiting class.
The Boilermakers landed a verbal commitment from 6-foot-4, 280-pound offensive tackle Andre Oben on Sunday afternoon. The Jersey City, New Jersey native picked Purdue over offers from 10 other programs and becomes the 10th player of the 2022 class to give a verbal pledge to Jeff Brohm and staff.
He posted a video on Twitter to make his announcement.

Oben ranks as a 3-star offensive lineman per 247Sports and is listed as the No. 108 offensive tackle of the class. He’s also considered to be one of the Top 30 players out of New Jersey.
Purdue beat out UConn, Liberty, UMass, Syracuse and Temple for Oben’s commitment. He is the second offensive lineman of the 2022 class to commit to the Boilermakers.
Purdue also recently received commitments from 3-star defensive lineman JP Deeter and 3-star running back Kentrell Marks. The Boilers rank No. 10 in the B1G in the 2022 recruiting rankings.
