Purdue suffered a big loss on the recruiting trail on Tuesday morning.
The Boilermakers lost a commitment from 3-star cornerback Jo’Ziah Edmond. The Indiana native had been committed to Purdue since June 10.

Edmond initially picked Purdue over programs such as Kentucky and Wisconsin, amongst others. He committed to Purdue while on an official visit to West Lafayette back in June.
Edmond attends Northwood High School and is from Nappanee, Indiana. He’s listed at 6-foot-1, 180 pounds.
It’s currently unclear why Edmond chose to back off of his commitment on Tuesday. He cited a conversation with his parents in his announcement.
He is the No. 723 overall player and the No. 65 cornerback in the country for the class of 2024, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 8 player from the state of Indiana.
His decommitment brings Purdue down to 20 recruits in the class of 2024. However, the Boilermakers still have 7 commitments from defensive backs in this cycle. The group is ranked in the top 30 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
