Indiana’s 2021 Mr. Football honor belongs to a Boilermaker.
Purdue quarterback signee Brady Allen was named Indiana Mr. Football on Friday. He is the first Purdue pledge to win the honor since former Boiler running back claimed the award in 2014.
Allen essentially sealed the deal with a masterful performance in Gibson Southern’s state championship victory. He threw for 398 yards and 5 touchdowns in a 45-35 victory over Brebeuf Jesuit at Lucas Oil Stadium over Thanksgiving weekend.

Allen is also the state’s all-time leader in passing touchdowns, throwing 149 during his 4-year career at the high school level. He’ll be one of the highest-rated QB commits of the Jeff Brohm era in West Lafayette.
During Gibson Southern’s state title run, Allen threw for 4,253 yards and 58 touchdowns with just 6 interceptions. He also completed 68.7% of his passes as a senior. The future Purdue QB also rushed for 300 yards and 17 scores.
The 6-foot-5 Allen is a 4-star prospect, ranking as the No. 15 quarterback in the 2022 recruiting class and is listed as one of the Top 250 overall players of the cycle. He joins a Purdue squad that finished the 2021 campaign with an 8-4 record.
Purdue will play Tennessee in the Music City Bowl.
