Back in November, against Illinois, Purdue QB David Blough got his ankle rolled up on and suffered a gruesome injury, ending his season.

He was expected to be out 4-6 months, and he’s right on track with that recovery timeline. Though he said he’s not at 100 percent just yet, he’s in Purdue’s spring game on Saturday.

Blough told the Associated Press that he’s happy with the work he’s put in to return to the field and is excited to be playing in the spring game:

“Probably nobody really was (expecting it),” Blough said, chuckling at the thought. “The trainers and coaches were great in creating a plan, the doctor was phenomenal and it was just a lot of hard work and time spent trying to teach myself how to walk again.”

Blough threw for 1,103 yards and nine touchdowns last season before going down with his injury.

Having him back will make the Purdue offense potent once again under second-year coach Jeff Brohm.
