Purdue has released more information about its dedication of the Tyler Trent Student Gate ahead of Saturday’s kickoff against Vanderbilt.

Tuesday morning, Purdue Athletics sent out a message saying it will unveil and dedicate the Tyler Trent Student Gate before the home opener on Saturday. The gate will feature gold lettering with the moniker “T2” which was Trent’s signature mark.

There will also be two plaques that detail his story and the impact he had on Purdue, college football and the nation.

According to the release, the ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. ET. Comments will be made by Purdue University President Mitch Daniels, board of trustees chair Mike Berghoff, head football coach Jeff Brohm and Tony and Kelly Trent, Tyler’s parents.

Purdue cheerleaders and members of the marching band will also be in attendance. The Trent family will be the first to enter through the new gate after the ceremony. Saturday’s dedication date would’ve marked Trent’s 21st birthday.
