Purdue transfer target, former ACC QB, reveals transfer destination

Kedon Slovis, a former star quarterback for USC and Pitt, will have a new home in 2023.
Slovis announced via his Twitter account that he would be transferring to BYU for the upcoming season. Slovis will be a graduate transfer, and is expected to replace Jaren Hall. Hall announced recently that he’ll be entering the 2023 NFL Draft.
Several B1G programs, including Purdue, were linked to Slovis. The Boilermakers are still looking around the transfer portal to replace Aidan O’Connell under first-year head coach Ryan Walters for next season.

Slovis, one of the more accomplished passers in the portal, elected to transfer from USC after three seasons. In his lone year with the Panthers, Slovis struggled, completing 58.4% of his passes for 10 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
After taking over for J.T. Daniels, Slovis completed 70% of his passes during his time with the Trojans. His best season came there in 2019 when he won the Pac-12 Offensive Freshman of the Year, throwing 30 touchdown passes and nine interceptions that season.
The Cougars will be joining the Big 12 in 2023 along with Houston, Cincinnati, and UCF. The Cougars finished the 2022 regular season at 8-5 under Kalani Sitake. BYU has been one of college football’s more consistent programs, totaling seven 10-plus win seasons since 2006.
