After Purdue came away from Iowa City with their dominating 24-7 win over the then second-ranked Hawkeyes, the news surrounding the Boilermakers has been buzzing.
On Monday, Purdue wide receiver David Bell was tabbed as the B1G Offensive Player of the Week, and now the Boilermakers junior wideout was recognized nationally as the Maxwell Award Player of the Week.

Against Iowa, Bell pulled in 11 passes for 240 yards and a touchdown. The total yards was the second most in a game in Purdue history, and also set a Kinnick Stadium record. Bell is averaging 135.8 yards per game this season, and leads the B1G in that category. For the season, Bell has 38 receptions for 679 yards and 4 TDโs.
The win vaulted the Boilermakers into the AP Top-25 for the first time since 2007.
The No. 25 Boilermakers will host Wisconsin at Ross-Ade Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 23 with a 2:00 PM kickoff.
