It’s never too early to think about replacing your starting quarterback’s replacement’s replacement, right?
Just ask Mel Tucker, who’s out here offering scholarships to 14-year-olds.
Luke Nickel, a 2025 quarterback prospect out of Georgia, took to Twitter to announce he received a scholarship offer from Tucker and Michigan State. His older brother, Jack, is a 2022 Michigan State commit at tight end.

Talk about hitting the recruiting trail hard.
Nickel is already opening eyes, even as he enters his freshman year of high school. He’s billed as a dual-threat QB and is receiving interest from Georgia, Georgia Tech and Ohio State, according to 247sports. Michigan State is his first offer.
In one game last year as an 8th grader, Nickel threw for 131 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 32-0 win. Oh, he also ran for 119 yards.
Don’t say we didn’t warn you about him.
