Quick Commit: JUCO receiver pledges to Penn State immediately after being offered

Junior college wide receiver Norval Black didn’t take long to make his decision. When he received an offer from Penn State this weekend, he gave his verbal commitment to the program.
247Sports reported that Black gave his pledge to the Nittany Lions after a camp held by Penn State. They were the first school to offer the 6-foot-1 wide receiver out of Lackawanna College.
“As soon as I stepped foot on campus it was nothing but love,” he said, according to 247Sports. “It felt like home as soon as I got there. The coaches made me feel like I was home. It was just a great time.”
Black is a native of Germantown, Maryland and had a strong season at Lackawanna College last season. He totaled 445 yards and five touchdowns on 15 receptions, averaging nearly 30 yards per catch. A member of the 2020 class, Black does not have any rankings on 247Sports at this time.
Penn State now has 11 members in its 2020 class, which ranks 15th nationally and second in the B1G, behind Ohio State. The commitment from Black is good news for the Nittany Lions after four-star offensive lineman Grant Toutant flipped from PSU to Ohio State on Sunday.
Black is the first wide receiver to commit to Penn State’s 2020 class.
