Purdue got embarrassed by Wisconsin last Saturday, but that wasn’t about to happen again against Nebraska.

The Boilermakers went into Lincoln and handed the Cornhuskers their 6th loss of the season, 28-23.

It was a big bounce-back performance from quarterback Aidan O’Connell. After throwing for just 200 yards and 3 interceptions against Wisconsin, he torched Nebraska’s secondary and threw for 233 yards and 2 touchdowns. Milton Wright and Jackson Anthrop each had 1 touchdown catch, respectively.

Running back Alexander Horvath also added to the fun as well with his own rushing touchdown. He only had 24 yards on the ground, but at the end of the day, that touchdown is all that matters.

The biggest story of the day though was the Boilermakers defense. They came to play & then some as their unit intercepted Adrian Martinez 4 times, and returned one of them for a pick-6.

It still got a bit interesting at the end with Nebraska’s late touchdown, but the onside attempt after failed and Purdue was able to get in victory formation.

It was a much-needed win for Purdue to get back on track for its last 4 games of the season. Receiver David Bell also had another strong performance (like he does every game) and finished with 9 receptions for 74 yards.

Up next for the 5-3 Boilermakers is a date with the No. 8 Spartans, while the Cornhuskers will welcome the Buckeyes to Lincoln.
