We might need a little extra popcorn for the Outback Bowl showdown between Minnesota and Auburn. Things are pretty interesting in Tampa.
The first half has been an outstanding game between two teams that have been pretty evenly matched. In the middle of a 10-10 tie, Minnesota was able to get a huge play from leading receiver Rashod Bateman to help put the Golden Gophers back in front in the second quarter.
On a 3rd-and-9 play, Tanner Morgan hit Bateman on a screen, and the top Gopher wideout turned a short pass into a 34-yard gain, buring several Auburn defenders. That play got the Gophers to the 2-yard line and eventually set up a 4th down touchdown pass from Seth Green to Bruce Witham to give Minnesota a 17-10 advantage.

Minnesota’s offense was really good all season, and it’s carried over through the first half in the Outback Bowl.
The Gophers enter the game 10-2 and are hoping to end the season with a second-straight bowl victory.
