Rece Davis addressed Lee Corso’s health status on College GameDay.

At the top of Saturday’s broadcast, Davis opened the show by revealing that Corso would not be on the show in Week 11. The panel of Davis, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, and Kirk Herbstreit looked different without Corso’s presence. Corso has been dealing with health issues in recent weeks and has missed the last few shows.

Corso has been a staple on the show since it’s inception in 1987. Davis gave some clarity on the situation:

“Lee Corso is still recuperating. We hope that he’s continuing to recover and hope that he’ll be back with us really soon,” Davis said.

Davis has worked directly with Corso since 2015. Corso has been the face of the show with his weekly headgear pick at the end of each show. At 87 years old, Corso has slowed down in recent years, but he has missed multiple shows in 2022.

This was the 5th show he missed this season. The show is hoping to have Corso back before the end of the season. After this week, there will be at least 4 more shows at the end of the regular season. Following the regular season, Corso could make a return during conference championship week or the Army-Navy College GameDay broadcast on Dec. 10. With multiple shows left in the season, College GameDay will try to have Corso back before the season is over.
