Rece Davis provides update on Heisman race, lists his frontrunner entering Week 11

Rece Davis recently provided insight on his favorites for the Heisman trophy. The college football analyst has a pair of B1G players on his list.
Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud and Michigan’s Blake Corum are two of his selections. Stroud has helped the Buckeyes to a 9-0 mark while throwing for 2,453 yards and 29 touchdowns to 4 interceptions. He did struggle a bit last weekend in tough conditions against Northwestern. Stroud passed for 76 yards but did account for a rare 79 yards on the ground.
Corum has paced Michigan’s offense. The junior running back has rushed for 1,187 yards and 16 touchdowns on 199 attempts. Corum has rushed for 100 yards or more in each of his past six games.
“It really changed for Hendon (Hooker) on Saturday, because he’s not going to have that type of stage to win late,” Davis said. “C.J. Stroud is going to have that platform when they play Michigan late, so I would say that he is probably the favorite.”
Other names like TCU’s Max Duggan have been floated around. The senior quarterback has passed for 2,407 yards and 24 touchdown to 2 interceptions. The Horned Frogs are 9-0 under his leadership.
“I would favor Stroud by a pretty good margin over Max (Duggan) in terms of handicapping the race,” said Davis.
It very well might come down to the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry game to determine the Heisman winner. It would be a big win for the Wolverines after taking out the Buckeyes last season. It could also be a strong showing for Corum in front of the nation and the voters.
“The other guy on the big stage might be a Blake Corum,” said Davis. “If Michigan were to win that game (at Ohio State) and Corum goes for 2 bills or something, maybe he could be the guy.”
