Six Big Ten programs have made the cut for 4-star receiver prospect Omar Cooper.

Cooper released his list of top-10 programs on Friday. Michigan State, Wisconsin, Purdue, Minnesota, Indiana and Illinois made the final list.

Cooper is from Indianapolis and attends Lawrence North High School. He’s also still considering West Virginia, Cincinnati, Missouri and Virginia Tech.

According to 247Sports Composite rankings, Cooper is a 4-star prospect and the No. 29 receiver and the No. 215 overall player in the country.

Indiana and Purdue would seem to have an edge in this race given their proximity to Cooper’s home town of Indianapolis. It doesn’t hurt that both the Hoosiers and Boilermakers have produced high-end receivers in recent years.

Purdue just had Rondale Moore go in the second round of the NFL Draft, and David Bell could be a prospect to watch for next season. Indiana has Ty Fryfogle, who was arguably the best receiver in the Big Ten for most of last season.

There is no timetable for Cooper’s commitment.

The Early Signing Period for the 2022 class is in December.
