Red zone woes: Wisconsin, Illinois have something in common entering Saturday’s B1G West matchup

B1G West opponents meet in a clash this week between 2 of the most putrid red zone offenses in the B1G.

Wisconsin goes on the road to face Illinois this weekend; both teams have been atrocious from the red zone.

Wisconsin has only scored 6 touchdowns on 15 red zone trips this season. Illinois has only scored 6 touchdowns on 16 red zone trips this season.

Both teams have the worst red-zone offenses in score percentage and touchdown percentage in the B1G. Both teams have only scored a total of 10 times in the red area.

Illinois is 2-4 on the season with wins over Nebraska and Charlotte. They have losses against UTSA, Virginia, Maryland and Purdue. Illinois has only cracked 30 points twice this season.

Wisconsin is 1-3 on the season; their lone win was against Eastern Michigan. They lost to No. 4 Penn State, No. 14 Notre Dame and No. 9 Michigan. They have failed to score 20 points in all 3 of their losses.
