Ohio State came out swinging to start the second half of Saturday’s game against Minnesota. However, the Buckeye defense found itself in hot water after one play.

The call came after Jordan Hancock intercepted Athan Kaliakmanis and nearly returned the interception all the way for a touchdown. After the takeaway, the Buckeyes gathered in the end zone to celebrate the interception, but it did not fly with the official.

A flag was thrown on the players for unsportsmanlike conduct with several players getting flagged. Instead of leaving the call as “multiple players,” the official rattled off one-by-one the numbers of each player involved.

“After the play was over, unsportsmanlike conduct on multiple players for posing,” called the official. “Unsportsmanlike conduct No. 7, No. 44, No. 33, No. 10, No. 24 and No. 7. And No. 1. That’s the first unsportsmanlike conduct foul toward disqualification.”

At the end of the day, the call likely did not have much of an impact on the final outcome of the game, but it was an interesting moment, nonetheless.
