Report: 3 Alabama players suspended for Orange Bowl

Three members of Alabama’s football team, including starting offensive lineman Deonte Brown, have been suspended for the Orange Bowl matchup against Oklahoma, according to a report.
Cecil Hurt of Tuscaloosa News reported Monday that Brown, along with offensive lineman Elliot Baker and tight end Kedrick James did not travel with the team to Miami. The three players have been reportedly suspended for a “violation of team rules.”
No further explanation on the situation has been reported.

Brown took over as the starting left guard in October and has been the starter in five of the last six games for the Crimson Tide. Baker and James have had limited roles with the team this season.
Alabama isn’t the only team in the College Football Playoff dealing with roster issues. Earlier on Monday, it was reported that three Clemson players failed an NCAA drug test. One of those players included star defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence.
The Crimson Tide will take on Oklahoma in the College Football Playoff semifinal Orange Bowl on Dec. 29.
