While the Cincinnati Bengals have been mostly a train wreck in recent seasons, including 2020, there was one positive thing to see when watching the Bengals.
That was rookie quarterback Joe Burrow. The former Ohio State Buckeye and LSU Tiger had been putting together a pretty solid inaugural season when things took a turn on Sunday. While throwing the ball against the Washington Football Team on Sunday, a defender fell into Burrow’s knee, immediately causing an injury.
From the get-go, Burrow and everyone watching knew the injury was bad. He was already tweeting about seeing everyone next year. We got that confirmation on Monday, but it appears the news was worse than expected.

The hope still remains that Burrow will be ready in time for 2021. This injury is similar to what Carson Wentz of the Philadelphia Eagles suffered during the 2017 season.
This won’t be a quick injury to heal from, which is really disappointing based on how things had been going for Burrow in 2020. He was part of an exciting group of rookie quarterbacks that included Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Herbert.
With his rookie season now in the books, we can now count his stats to this point as his 2020 rookie stats. He completed 264 of 404 passes for 2,688 yards for 13 touchdowns and five interceptions. Prior to the injury against Washington, Burrow had gone 22-of-34 for 203 yards and a touchdown.
