The College Football Playoff Board of Managers met on Monday to talk about the sport. Sources are telling ESPN’s Pete Thamel that the board spoke about potentially operating under a governance structure separate from the NCAA.

This could change the way college football is structured if what the sources are saying is true. Nothing is confirmed, but this could be a very interesting approach. Other items that were discussed were how the CFP will look in the future.

Currently, the NCAA is the ruling power in the world of college football. A separate party other than the NCAA would definitely makes thing interesting.

There are no other details about the rumored split. A separate CFP governing body wouldn’t be the craziest thing considering all of the expansion talks that went on this past year.
