Central Michigan quarterback John Keller is in critical condition after a shooting that occurred at an apartment complex in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Central Michigan Life reported the news.
According to the report, Keller was shot in the chest at the Deerfield Village Apartments. Mount Pleasant police responded to the sound of gunshots at the off-campus apartments early Saturday morning.
Police say that the shooting stemmed from an altercation that occurred at a party. One individual left the party and grabbed a gun from his car, then fired shots upon returning.
Keller was one of two victims injured in the shooting. The second person is thought to be in stable condition at the time of the report.
Keller initially committed to Cincinnati out of high school but transferred out following his lone season with the Bearcats. After spending one season at the junior college level, the quarterback then transferred to Central Michigan in January 2020.
