Report: Colorado State LB expected to transfer to Nebraska

It sounds like Nebraska is getting ready to add another transfer under head coach Scott Frost.
According to Kelly Lyell with The Coloradoan, linebacker Zach Schlager has decided to leave Colorado State. Schlager’s father is cited as saying his son’s next destination is Nebraska where he hopes to join the team as a walk-on.
Schlager’s path is certainly an interesting one. According to Lyell, the Cornhuskers did have interest in Schlager coming out of high school in 2018. Unfortunately, Nebraska did not have a scholarship available to offer him in Frost’s first year as head coach.

Schlager was rated as a three-star OLB and the No. 4 player out of Nebraska for the class of 2018. He appeared in four games last season. It will be interesting to see how Schlager fits into Frost’s plans at Nebraska.
