A Midwestern State University football player died after sustaining a neck injury during a football game over the weekend, according to reports.

Andy Newberry of the Times Record News reported that Robert Graves, a sophomore at Midwestern State, passed away on Tuesday night as a result of an injury sustained on Saturday.

Grays, a sophomore football player, suffered a neck injury late in Saturday’s game against Texas A&M-Kingsville. He was moved to a medical facility in Houston on Sunday where he is closer to his family.

The school hosted a prayer vigil for Grays on Monday evening.
