According to Sunday evening reports, TCU and head coach Gary Patterson are mutually agreeing to part ways, effective immediately.

Patterson had been at TCU since the end of the 2000 season, leading the team to a Rose Bowl win following the 2010 season. He finishes with 181 wins leading the Horned Frogs.

TCU started the year 3-5 but still feels like a strange move with just 4 games remaining in the season. In place of Patterson, TCU is reportedly going with a former Minnesota coach as the interim.

According to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg, Jerry Kill will fill in on an interim basis. He had been in a position listed as Assistant to the HC since 2020.

Kill led the Gophers from 2011-15. He produced a 29-29 record but went 0-3 in bowl games.
