Report: Ex-MSU receiver Hunter Rison enters transfer portal following suspension at Kansas State

Hunter Rison is reportedly on the move again.
According to GoPowerCat.com, Rison entered his name in the NCAA transfer portal after being suspended at Kansas State by new head coach Chris Klieman following an alleged domestic battery arrest that occurred in April. Rison was expected to have a court date in May, but it has been pushed back to July, per the report.
Rison was indefinitely suspended from the team for a violation of team and departmental policy but Kleiman did not have any further comment on the situation.
Throughout the process, Rison has maintained his innocence in the situation. In a tweet earlier this year, the receiver wrote, “This will be my only response. I will continue to be myself…a man of God, as well as a great student-athlete at this university. I have done nothing wrong. Proverbs 2:11.”
With Rison entering the transfer portal, he will be attending a third school to continue his academic and athletic career. He started his college football career at Michigan State, where he spent one season on Mark Dantonio’s squad.
In 2017, Rison totaled 19 catches for 224 yards as a true freshman. He also rushed three times for 11 yards while playing in all 12 games. While the receiver had a significant role in East Lansing early in his career, he wanted to be able to make a bigger impact elsewhere and decided to transfer to Kansas State.
Due to NCAA transfer rules, Rison sat out the 2018 season and was expected to be a key part of the Wildcats’ wide receiving corps this fall. There is no indication where Rison would look to continue his career after leaving Kansas State.
