An LSU defensive back who arrived as a five-star prospect is reporting considering transferring to Ohio State, according to Eleven Warriors.

The Class of 2020 cornerback was majorly courted by Ohio State. Ricks was deemed to be the No. 2 cornerback in the nation and the No. 14 overall player. Ricks explains what makes Ohio State so enticing.

“They’re a winning program and that’s important to me. I like coach Day and he was one of the guys I talked with back in high school too. He’s a great coach and there’s a lot of things about Ohio State that stand out,” Ricks said. “I’m very close with C.J. Stroud and I’ve talked with him, Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson. Me and C.J. played on the same pop warner team when we were seven years old and we’ve been close ever since.”

The B1G East will be on the line when No. 2 Ohio State heads to No. 5 Michigan in The Game on Saturday. Both Michigan and Ohio State are 10-1 overall. Michigan-Ohio State is slated for Nov. 27 (12 p.m. EST) and will be televised on FOX.

Ricks suffered a season-ending injury in October. In 6 games in 2021, the defensive back accounted for 11 tackles, a pass break-up and an interception.

In 2020, Ricks had an outstanding freshman season for the Tigers. He was credited with 20 total stops, 5 pass break-ups and 4 interceptions. He also scored on a pair of pick-sixes.
