A former Illinois center is reportedly now taking 1st-team reps with the Chicago Bears. Doug Kramer is now working with the Bears’ 1st-team offensive line following an injury according to The Athletic’s Kevin Fishbain.
Kramer was drafted by the Bears with the 207th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. He is stepping in after Lucas Patrick had an injury at training camp on Thursday. This is an exciting opportunity for the rookie, to get some quality reps with some of the O-linemen that the Bears have to offer.
Other adjustments on the Bears offensive line are rotating Riley Reiff and Braxton Jonesin at left tackle, with Ja’Tyre Carter and Sam Mustipher moving to right guard, and Larry Broom to right tackle.
If Kramer takes full advantage of this opportunity, he could reap the benefits.
Doug Kramer has taken Patrick’s spot with the Bears’ first-team O-line.
Riley Reiff is still working his way in, rotating at left tackle with Braxton Jones. Ja’Tyre Carter and Sam Mustipher have rotated at right guard. Larry Borom is the right tackle.
