Report: Former Michigan State, NFL star dies at 38

Former Michigan State and NFL receiver Charles Rogers has died at the age of 38, according to a report from the Detroit Free Press. The report came out on Monday morning.

No cause of death was mentioned in the report.

Rogers played at Michigan State from 2000-02 and played for former Spartans head coach Bobby Williams. He finished his career in East Lansing with 135 receptions for 2,281 yards and 27 touchdowns. He then went on to enter the NFL Draft in 2003 and was selected as the No. 2 overall pick by the Detroit Lions.

Rogers played three seasons with the Lions, appearing in 15 games and caught 36 passes for 440 yards and four touchdowns.

According to the Detroit Free Press, it was reported that Rogers passed away overnight. He was a native of Saginaw, Michigan.
