As of right now, Doug Martin is still the head football coach at New Mexico State.

But rumblings are starting to surface about their being a change at the top of the Aggies program after several seasons of disappointing results.

According to FootballScoop, a replacement is even being discussed in former Minnesota Gophers head coach Jerry Kill.

Martin has been at the helm of the MSU programs since 2013 and has a 24-74 overall record. 2017 was his high point, leading the Aggies to a 7-6 season and an Arizona Bowl victory. However in the three seasons since they have won three or fewer games, including a dismal 1-10 record this season.

Kill has been coaching for 30 years, and has had stints at Southern Illinois, Northern Illinois and was at Minnesota in 2011, where he spent five seasons and posted a 23-29 record. He has posted 15 winning seasons during his time as a head coach, with an overall career record of 152-99.

New Mexico State will finish their 2021 season hosting UMass on Saturday, Nov. 27 with a 2:00 PM kickoff scheduled.
