Report: Former Notre Dame star defensive lineman found dead at 29

Former Notre Dame and NFL defensive lineman Louis Nix was found dead, according to multiple reports. Family members told two television stations in Jacksonville that Nix had been found deceased after being reported missing earlier in the week, per ESPN.
Nix was 29.
ESPN reports that Nix was reported missing on Wednesday to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. It was then reported that Nix had been located but his condition was not included. From ESPN:
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Nix was last seen at 10 a.m. ET on Wednesday, leaving his father’s Jacksonville residence. Notre Dame football coach Brian Kelly sent out a tweet Saturday morning asking for the public’s help in finding Nix.
Nix was injured in a shooting in December while filling his car’s tires at a gas station near the Jacksonville airport. He said on social media that he spent 10 days in the hospital and that a bullet ricocheted off his sternum and went into his lung.
Nix was a third-round selection in the 2014 NFL Draft, taken by the Houston Texans with the 83rd overall pick. He spent three seasons in the league and had stops with the Texas, New York Giants and Jacksonville Jaguars.
Over his three seasons at Noitre Dame, Nix was credited with 122 tackles, 14 for loss, 8 passes defended and a forced fumble.
