Report: Georgia LB ‘voluntarily’ surrenders to police following felony charge

Georgia linebacker Adam Anderson has reportedly “voluntarily surrendered” to Athens-Clarke County police Wednesday evening.
According to Seth Emerson with The Athletic and Marc Weiszer with the Athens Banner-Herald, Anderson surrendered to the police after being charged with felony rape. The charges stem from an Oct. 29 incident with Anderson denying any wrongdoing since the initial allegations surfaced.
“(He) is innocent of the charge brought against him and intends to vigorously defend himself in court,” said Anderson’s, according to Emerson.

Anderson has been suspended by the Bulldogs since Nov. 5 while the investigation was conducted. He is Georgia’s leading pass-rusher this season with 5.5 sacks.
