Report: Greg Schiano seeking compensation after Tennessee breaks off deal

The Tennessee-Greg Schiano situation has spiraled completely out of control.
On Sunday afternoon, a report surfaced that Schiano would become the next head coach of the Volunteers football program, though there was no confirmation that the deal was ever finalized. After the decision was met backlash, outrage and protest, Tennessee decided to back away from the deal and search for a new candidate.
Now, Schiano — currently Ohio State’s defensive coordinator — is seeking compensation or Tennessee breaking off the deal. There was no indication of the dollar amount Schiano is seeking. The report was made by Football Scoop:

Somehow, this whole thing could get even uglier if Schiano is owed a significant chunk of cash.
Tennessee fans got their message across on Sunday afternoon, but it may come at a cost.
Schiano was the head coach at Rutgers from 2001 through 2011 and was 68-67 in 11 seasons. He’s served as the defensive coordinator for the Buckeyes the past two seasons.
