While B1G commissioner Kevin Warren refused to reveal the final vote among B1G leadership to postpone the college football and fall sports season on Tuesday, it appears pretty clear that the decision was not unanimous. According to a report, higher administration at the University of Iowa fought hard to urge other presidents in the conference to move forward with fall football.

Chad Leistikow of the Des Moines Register reported that Iowa athletic director Gary Barta and president Bruce Herald were on the phone throughout the afternoon attempting to convince other presidents to vote on playing football in the fall. But their efforts fell short.

Instead, the B1G became the first Power 5 conference to pass on playing sports this fall.

Right now, the ACC, SEC and Big 12 are planning to move forward with the fall schedule as planned. Big 12 presidents voted to move forward with the schedule on Tuesday, just hours after the B1G and Pac-12 ended their seasons.

The B1G says it will attempt to move fall sports to the spring.
