Report: Iowa’s Music City Bowl game in jeopardy
By Paul Harvey
Published:
As of Sunday, Iowa’s Music City Bowl game is highly doubtful to be played, according to Peter Baugh with The Athletic.
According to Baugh, the situation has become unlikely due to an uptick in COVID-19 cases. However, that uptick comes within the Missouri program just days ahead of the scheduled kickoff.
The Music City Bowl between Mizzou and Iowa is “highly unlikely,” per a person with knowledge of the situation. Uptick in COVID-19 numbers at Mizzou.

The Hawkeyes have also been battling virus issues within their program. Iowa had to shut down team activities earlier in bowl prep before resuming activities this week.
Head coach Kirk Ferentz was among those to test positive for the virus. He was able to return to practice on Saturday.
Wednesday’s bowl game had appeared to be a great opportunity for Iowa to end the year on a high note against a quality SEC opponent. The Hawkeyes are on a six-game win streak and could push that to a seven-game roll by beating the Tigers.
Stay tuned to find out if the game goes on or the plug gets pulled.
