An MRI has revealed the worst news for Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Dobbins has suffered a season-ending ACL tear. The news was reported after the second-year running back underwent an MRI. He was injured in Baltimore’s preseason finale on Saturday.

Because it was the final preseason game of 2021, many were questioning John Harbaugh’s decision to play Dobbins and other starters. Now, the Ravens head coach will have to deal with even more difficult criticism with the injury news.

As a rookie in 2020, Dobbins racked up 805 yards and 9 touchdowns on 134 carries. He was emerging as one of the best young running backs in the game, but will be sidelined after just one year in the NFL.

NFL Network reporter Taylor Bisciotti made the comment that she doesn’t “understand playing starters in the preseason,” following Dobbins’ injury Saturday. From his own Twitter account, Dobbins liked the post, indicating that he clearly isn’t happy with his head coach.

Dobbins is a rising star in the NFL, but we won’t be able to see him on the field again until 2022.
