Report: K-State was missing numerous key contributors in upset win over No. 3 Oklahoma

Kansas State shocked the football world on Saturday afternoon, pulling off an improbably 38-35 upset win over Oklahoma. The final score alone was enough to stun fans across the country.
But the upset victory is even more impressive considering the Wildcats were missing more than a half-dozen key contributors during the game. According to Yahoo Sports’ Pete Thamel, K-State was without at least eight key players Saturday.
Three defensive starters and four offensive starters did not play in Saturday’s game, per Thamel’s report. Seeing how well the Wildcats played, particularly in the second half, those starters may be in for a challenge to win their jobs back for the rest of the season.

Oklahoma owned a 21-7 lead at halftime and held a 35-14 advantage in the third quarter. But a late fourth quarter charge from the Wildcats and scoring 21 straight points put K-State in position for Blake Lynch to knock down a game-winning field goal.
From 50 yards out, Lynch nailed the game-winning kick.
Kansas State improved to 1-1 on the season after losing its season opener to Arkansas State. Oklahoma is also now 1-1 on the year and will get knocked out of that No. 3 spot in the rankings Sunday.
