Kalen DeBoer wants to ensure that Indiana ends the year on a positive note and see the Hoosiers achieve their first nine-win season in over 50 years. So, after working out some of the details, it sounds like he’ll be running IU’s offense one last time.

Tom Brew of Hoosier Maven is reporting that DeBoer plans to run the Indiana offense for the Gator Bowl against Tennessee. The Hoosiers enter the game 8-4, searching for their first nine-win year since 1967.

“That’s what we are planning,” DeBoer told Brew. “This team, program and season are so special, and I want to do everything I can to finish it off in a great way!”

DeBoer accepted the head coaching job at Fresno State earlier this week. He replaces three-year head coach Jeff Tedford following a 4-8 campaign in 2019.

Earlier this week, both DeBoer and head coach Tom Allen confirmed that the plan was for DeBoer to run the offense, but administration on both sides at to figure out some details.

Assuming there are no sudden changes, it sounds like DeBoer will be calling the shots one last time for the Indiana offense.
