Miles recently came under fire for his conduct while he was at LSU. During his time with the Tigers, he was banned from contacting female students because of inappropriate behavior.
Long, a former Arkansas AD who also has spent time at Michigan, hired Miles in 2018.
Long worked at Michigan on two separate occasions. First, he was a GA for the Wolverines in 1987. After a brief stint at Rice, he returned to Ann Arbor to work in the athletic department. He was an associate athletic director and an assistant athletic director over a 10-year span with Michigan.
He’s also notable in Big Ten country for hiring Bret Bielema at Arkansas. He hired Bielema away from Nebraska, and the two were both relieved of their duties in Fayetteville after the 2017 season. Bielema is now the head coach at Illinois.
