It hasn’t taken Kliff Kingsbury long to find a new job.

According to Gerard Martinez of USCFootball.com, Kingsbury will be the new offensive coordinator at USC. The news breaks just a few days after Texas Tech fired Kingsbury.

USC fired offensive coordinator Tee Martin and was on the search for a replacement. Martin had been with the Trojans since 2o12.

Kingsbury was the head coach at Texas Tech for six seasons, compiling a 35-40 record during that time. The Red Raiders never won more than seven games in a single season and never placed higher than fifth in the Big XII.

Texas Tech attended three bowl games in that time.

Still, Kingsbury’s offenses ranked as some of the best in college football throughout his run in Lubbock. The Red Raiders finished in the top 25 in scoring in five of six years, and finished in the top five twice.

Defensively was where the struggles arose. The Red Raiders never had a defense better than 87th nationally in scoring, a significant issue in the Big XII.

Kingsbury seems like a good fit at USC under head coach Clay Helton. It’ll be interesting to see how well his offensive strategy works in the Pac-12.
