LSU is in the process of banning former running back Derrius Guice from its athletics program, according to a report from ESPN’s Heather Dinich. The news comes after the school came under scrutiny for a failure to properly and appropriately report incidents of sexual misconduct and abuse within the athletic department.

Per Dinich’s report, LSU is also “cutting ties” with longtime law firm Taylor Porter.

In 2020, Guice was accused of three separate domestic violence incidents. Two women accused Guice of sexual assault in 2016. Another student at the school alleged that Guice took a partially nude photo of her and showed it to teammates without her knowledge or consent.

LSU plans to remove all of Guice’s statistics from its record books.

Recently, it was alleged that former head coach Les Miles participated in inappropriate behaviors with female students within the athletic department. It was recommended by then-athletic director Joe Alleva that Miles be fired but he continued to coach the program until the midway point of the 2016 season, when he fired for the team’s subpar on-field performance.

Guice was at LSU from 2015-17 and rushed for 3,074 yards and scored 29 touchdowns while also totaled 250 receiving yards and adding 3 more scores. He was a second-round selection in the 2018 NFL Draft, taken by the Washington Football Team.

Guice was released from the team in 2020 after being arrested on charges related to domestic violence.
