Luka Garza will reportedly be sticking around with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Michael Scotto of Hoop Hype reported the news on Sunday.
Reports are indicating that Garza has agreed to return to Minnesota on a two-way deal. Garza spent last season with Minnesota and appeared in 28 games. He averaged 6.5 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 0.6 assists per outing.
The Detroit Pistons originally drafted Garza with the 52nd overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft out of Iowa. Garza averaged 18.2 points per in his final season with the Hawkeyes.

The Pistons chose to not pick up his team option, which led to him being eventually signed by Minnesota.
Minnesota reached the playoffs last season, but did not advance past the first round. The Timberwolves lost to the Denver Nuggets in five games. The Nuggets went on to win the NBA Finals after beating the Miami Heat.
The Nuggets won their first NBA title in franchise history after beating the Heat.
Garza also spent time with the Timberwolves’ G-League team last season. He averaged 32.2 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists in the six games he played in.
It looks like Garza impressed Minnesota enough for them to bring him back for another round. It’ll be interesting to see what’s next for the Iowa product.
