Bad news came out of Maryland Tuesday night.

There’s a report saying that Terrapins DE Brett Kulka underwent a season-ending knee surgery on Monday.

According to Josh Stirn of 247Sports, Kulka’s career may be over:

Kulka, a former 2-star recruit back in 2014, became a part-time starter in 2016. This season he was listed as a backup DL. In his time with the Terrapins to this point, Kulka has spent time at both DT and DE.

In the first three games of the season, Kulka was a team captain alongside seniors Ty Johnson, Taivon Jacobs and Darnell Savage. The 6-foot-4 DL from Edinboro, Pa. had a career-high 30 tackles in 2016.
