Published:
Maryland OC Walt Bell is leaving for the same position at FSU, according to a report by Pete Thamel.
Along with coordinating the offense, Bell will also coach the QBs for new head coach Willie Taggart. Bell has been at Maryland for two seasons under D.J. Durkin. Prior to landing at Maryland, Bell was the OC for Arkansas State in 2014 and 2015.
This will be Bell’s second stint in the ACC after having coached North Carolina’s TEs in 2012 and 2013.
Alabama OC Mike Locksley was rumored to have been the top candidate for the FSU job, but it appears that Bell is taking that position.
Bell is a former WR at Middle Tennessee State.
