Report: Michael Penix Jr.’s status for Ohio State updated during warmups

It doesn’t look good for Indiana quarterback Michael Penix Jr.
Head coach Tom Allen was vague but updated Penix’s status earlier in the week as a game-time decision. According to Allen’s update, it is not something that he views as a long-term issue for Penix.
Unfortunately, it appears that Penix will be out for the matchup against Ohio State. Multiple outlets are reporting that Penix is dressed but not taking part in warmups while ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg is reporting that Penix is out with Peyton Ramsey set to start for the Hoosiers:

It is a big blow to Indiana as Penix has been dynamic to start the season. Fortunately, Ramsey does have plenty of starting and game experience with the Hoosiers and was the starter for last season’s game with the Buckeyes. Hopefully, he’s able to lead the offense well in Penix’s absence.
