Michigan is gearing up to facing Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide on New Year’s Day, but the Wolverines will be without one defensive lineman for the game.
According to Angelique Chengelis with the Detroit News, senior Michael Dwumfour will not play against Alabama and was unable to make the trip to Florida. Based on a statement from a Michigan official, Dwumfour’s absence is due to a medical procedure:
“Michael had a medical procedure that prevented him from traveling and participating in the bowl game,” according to a Michigan football official.
Dwumfour has 33 total tackles in his career with 6.5 for loss, three sacks, an interception, and two passes defended. His best game this season came against Ohio State when he had three tackles with half a tackle for loss and half a sack.
