Michigan running back O’Maury Samuels has been dismissed from the team after being charged with alleged domestic violence, according to reports.
Zach Shaw of 247Sports and CBS Sports reported on Wednesday that Samuels had been dismissed by the team earlier in the day. Later, it was reported that the running back appeared in court on charges of one count domestic battery and one count of malicious destruction of personal property under $200.
All of the charges were misdemeanors and the offenses were committed on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018.
According to Ann Arbor 15th District Court records, Michigan sophomore running back O'Maury Samuels is being charged with one count of Domestic Violence and two counts of Malicious Destruction of Personal Property under $200.

Samuels is a former 4-star running back and was a member of the Wolverines’ 2017 recruiting class. He hasn’t seen much of the field in his two seasons in Ann Arbor.
In 2017, Samuels had just 13 yards on eight rushing attempts as a freshman. This year, he totaled 66 yards on 13 attempts.
Michigan released a statement in the early afternoon of Wednesday announcing that Samuels had been dismissed from the team.
