Michigan State is still trying to rebuild the program heading into Year 2 under Mel Tucker, but it looks like the Spartans may need to replace a key staff member.
According to a report from college football insider Bruce Feldman, the Spartans are expected to lose Scott Aligo, MSU’s Director of Player Personnel. Feldman is reporting that Aligo is expected to head to Kansas, his alma mater, as the new Director of Scouting for the Jayhawks.
According to Feldman, Aligo was key in helping the Spartans land 16 transfers this offseason as Tucker and his staff try to revamp the roster for 2021 and beyond.
SOURCES: Michigan State Dir. of Player Personnel Scott Aligo is expected to go home to #Kansas as the Jayhawks new director of scouting. Aligo, a former NFL scout and KU grad, played a key role in MSU landing 16 transfers the past year, should really help Jayhawks on that front.

Aligo joined Michigan State in 2020 after stints at Akron, Chattanooga, and John Carroll. He also spent time in the NFL and previously served as an assistant coach in the collegiate ranks.
Losing Aligo would certainly be a blow to Tucker and the Spartans after such a wild and tumultuous start to his tenure in 2020.
