Leach finished his eighth season at Washington State and had tremendous success at a program that has struggled throughout its history. In those eight years, Leach accumulated a 55-47 record with the Cougars, taking his teams to six bowl games.
In 2018, Leach guided Wazzu to an 11-2 record, an Alamo Bowl victory and a spot at No. 10 in the final Associated Press rankings. This season, Washington State finished 6-7.
Prior to his time at Washington State, Leach was the head coach at Texas Tech, where he spent 10 seasons with the program. He piled up an 84-43 record and was 11-2 in 2008, tying for first in the Big 12 that year.
Leach has taken his teams to 16 bowl games in 18 seasons as a head coach.
