Minnesota will be short-handed offensively when it takes on Auburn in the Outback Bowl.
Prior to kickoff, Andy Greder of the Pioneer Press reported that running back Shannon Brooks was not with the team for pregame warmups at Raymond James Stadium. He also reported that right tackle Daniel Faalele will miss the game, leaving quite a gap on the offensive line for the Gophers.
Brooks appeared in nine games this season, rushing for 408 yards and two touchdowns on 73 carries. Faalele has been a consistent starter for the Golden Gophers along the offensive line all season.

For Brooks, it’s the end of a career. Over the last five years, he’s been a versatile back for Minnesota, serving as an excellent running back and also catching passes out of the backfield. In his career, Brooks piled up 2,290 rushing yards and accounted for 22 total touchdowns.
Minnesota enters the Outback Bowl with a 10-2 record and Auburn is 9-3. Kickoff from Tampa is at 1 p.m. ET.
