Much of Nebraska’s Class of 2019 officially signed with the program on Wednesday.

That’s a step in the right direction. However, on Thursday, a new hole opened up for the Huskers. According to a report, LB — and key special teams member — Jacob Weinmaster is medically retiring from football.

Weinmaster was a junior this season and a former walk-on who made 13 tackles — 8 of which on special teams. The 6-foot, 225-pound LB accumulated 15 tackles in his time at Nebraska, where he played 22 total games.

Weinmaster has not publicly announced the decision. His brother, Zach Weinmaster, is anticipated to walk-on with the Huskers as a WR in 2019.

Nebraska’s entire 2019 class can be seen here.
